Spring Duck

Last week we decided to take Finley to get her picture taken with some duckies in the mall. We knew she would love the ducks, but we had no idea just how much. She wanted to hold them and kiss them and squeeze them. We actually had to take them away from her a few times. The photographer said she was fearless, but of course we knew that. Here are our 8 favorite. We just love this little girl:

A PlaySet for Finley

I want to apologize for the extended period of time between my last posts. We've been sooo busy. This last week was our Spring Break and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Finley got to spend some quality time with Nana and Papaw and she loved that time! Papaw helped Daddy put together Finley's first swingset and slide! She lost her mind! She absolutely loves our backyard, now. Ashley and Josh came to visit this weekend, and Josh helped Daddy and Papaw build a little barrier around her playset, complete with mulch! Nana bought us a fire pit, so we could roast marshmallows! What a blessing to have family visiting! Tomorrow we are back into the routine. Thanks Nana and Papaw for everything!!!

Some fun videos

A video of Finley saying "Patty Cake" (her favorite song this week)

I know it might be weird to video tape little Finley praying, but we just had to share this video. Notice that she shuts her eyes when she's praying for people.

Snow~~

This morning we woke up at 7, to 8 inches of snow!!!!! This was Finley's very first time to play in the snow. She's seen snow before, but there hasn't been enough to actually get out and play. We sure were missing Granny Judy's snow clothes closet this year, but put together some makeshift snow outfits.

Finley was excited, but nervous when she saw the pretty snow:

Daddy measured 8 inches in our front yard:
Mommy tried to show Finley how to make a snow angel, but the experience was not too appealing to Finley, so she just watched.

A view down our road:
Finley wouldn't walk through the snow without a hand to hold on to.
The snow was too powdery to make snow balls, but we sure tried.

Mommy tried to get Finley to lick the snow. Finley loves to eat ice, but didn't understand how that was similar to the white stuff on the ground.

Finley started to get cold and grumpy within ten minutes. We think next year will be better for her and the snow, if we get it again.

Jasper LOVED the snow. It was as tall as he is. He had to hop around to keep from disappearing. He also got really cold. We went inside when our two little buddies starting shivering.

Daddy made us a nice, hot breakfast, complete with pancakes, sausage, eggs, and bananas. Delicious!
Then we decided we should take the opportunity to make some snow cream! We gathered 8 cups of fresh snow, mixed up 1 cup of whole milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/2 tsp of vanilla. It was wonderful. We couldn't get Finley to try it, though. Strange. She kept saying, "snow is yucky".

Now it is 9:20 and we are all warm and snuggly. It's time for a morning nap. Churches all over Memphis are closed, due to the snow.
