Happy Father's Day

Sunday we celebrated Father's Day. Finley and I made Andrew some yummy muffins. She also told me what to write in his birthday card, and I wrote it verbatim. It was quite comical and went something like this:
"I love you Daddy. I love you. Fighter. Birthday Cake. Thank you for puppy. Christmas. Pinkwizzel. Put them in a box and a puppy will scare them away."
As strange as that sounded, it was her little words and I know it made her daddy smile.

We spent all day with Nana, Papaw, Aunt Jess, Uncle Brian, Uncle Nick and cousin Tyler. Aunt Jessie and Uncle Brandon came over later with Addy. We had a blast on the slip n slide. What a great way to celebrate our fathers!

Library Days

I used to spend my summers involved in the summer reading programs at the library in Evansville. It's crazy that now my 3 year old is participating in the same program. Evansville has fabulous libraries that offer many programs for kids Finley's age.
Last week we went to the Water Show. It was so hot, but Finley thought the water man was hilarious. We were happy to stay dry.

LK even watched the action from a dry area:

Then we were off to the new BIG library to pick out some books. Finley loved the library and wants to go everyday. She goes through her library books so quickly, we really could go daily.

Adjusting to our new temporary home

I have to say that God has blessed us with 2 girls that are fabulously flexible. They are happy to make any new place "home". We are now calling my mom and Tim (Nana and Papaw)'s home our home. Every time we pull into the driveway, Finley will say, "this is my new house". She's so happy to be around family. It's a little different sharing a room with a 6 month old (in my old bedroom non the less) but we are so thankful for Mom and Tim's hospitality. We're just praying for our home in Memphis to sell.

LK sits up now. This has made her bouncy chair less fun. She doesn't want to lay back and she always hits her face on the hanging toys. Silly girl.

Finley has her own room, complete with pink curtains. Her new infatuation is with money. Nana and Papaw have a huge about of collected pennies and other coins that they store in Fin's room. She is always sticking them in her pockets and purses. I think now might be the time to introduce her to Dave Ramsey's kids money workbook.

The girls are spending so much time together. Finley LOVES to read to her sis:

you know I am obsessed with baby toes:

Finley loves to crawl into LK's crib with her. She's so funny. LK doesn't seem to mind the company at all!

A new classroom

Our family of four went with me to my new classroom as I moved many boxes of goodies. Libby Kate and Finley were big helpers during our time there. :)

My favorite thing about my classroom is the row of windows. I love me some sunlight... and these windows actually open!

I have a smart board and some chalk boards. Finley is in heaven. She's been writing her name like crazy these days. Can you read her name below? So cute.
