Christmas at the Zoo

Tonight we met up with Zoey and Austin, and took Finley to the zoo. The Memphis Zoo loves to celebrate the holidays. Right now they are celebrating Christmas. It was a fabulous time. They even had fake snow.

We've been prepping Finley for Santa this year. She is soooo excited about him! We talk about him daily. Today I just had the intentions of her seeing Santa (from a distance). We looked at him from afar and I asked her if she'd like to go sit on his lap and tell him what she wants for Christmas. She said yes. She was very excited. I was very nervous. The three kids in front of Finley screamed the second their mommies put them on Santa's lap. I was even more nervous.

BUT.... when it was Finley's turn, she walked up to Santa (by herself), reached up for him, and crawled into his lap. She wouldn't smile, but she didn't cry either. She was incredibly serious about the whole thing. She did enjoy herslef, though. She touched his beard and told him that she wants a baby doll and elmo. Then it was over. She came back over to me and there was one single tear streaming down her face. But she was happy as a lark. I don't know where the tear came from. I guess she was so excited.
